Computed tomography is commonly referred to as a CT scan. A CT scan is a non-invasive diagnostic imaging procedure that uses a combination of X-rays and computer technology to produce images of the inside of the body. It shows detailed images of any part of the body, including the bones, muscles, fat, organs and blood vessels. It helps detect a variety of diseases as well as reveals internal injuries and bleeding quickly, thus saving lives.

Midtown Medical Imaging offers the newest of technologies when it comes to CT equipment. All of our scanners are updated with the latest software and hardware available. Our equipment is purchased and serviced by the original equipment manufacture versus utilizing third party companies, thus ensuring the equipment is always up to OEM specifications and functioning as though it was just pulled off the manufacturing line today.

Midtown Medical Imaging adheres to all principles of radiation protection. All of our systems have software in place that allow us to practice ALARA (As Low As Reasonable Achievable), a principle of radiation protection that only exposes patients to the bare minimum of amount of radiation in order to achieve quality images. All of our systems are equipped with low-dose scanning software. Again, all of our systems are serviced by the original equipment manufacturer thus eliminating the chances of any system malfunctions.
